Actor Refutes Anti-Vaccine Position After Narrating Contentious Pandemic Feature

The "Taken" star has provided his voice to a new documentary that challenges the safety of immunizations and praises former health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Film's Contentious Foundation

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a popular book co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the global outbreak for claims that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

Her co-author, a producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone media personality the Infowars host. The producer took to social media praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Strong Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Neeson have issued a statement pushing back against suggestions that he supports anti-vaccine sentiments.

"We all acknowledge that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the response reads. "Liam has never been, and remains not, anti-vax. His long work with Unicef highlights his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement added that the performer was not involved in crafting the film's narrative and that questions about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.

Key Claims Within the Film

According to the documentary, the voiceover read by Neeson features several controversial points:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "research has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • It further attacks pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • Regarding Covid vaccines, it mentions a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Past Context and Ongoing Debates

The film includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was subsequently the topic of a formal apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Recently, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to alter its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This claim is repeated in the film, contrary to a new report from the WHO confirming no connection has been found.

A Past Record of Endorsement

Differing from the documentary's narrative, Neeson has previously expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an incredible triumph," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The film finishes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This marks not the finish of our narrative. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
