New information has come to light about the untimely demises of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

Upon entering the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had gone with her contacted 911. Afterward, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The person close to the family questioned several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

The source also refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

The statement includes accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would not be present until Wednesday or later.
