Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is unclear and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
