The Ideal Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Zodiac Sign
This comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm within the community. Starting with the gradual unveiling of newcomers before the title's release, to players forming firm views on the full roster of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms boasting unique designs that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for Aries, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes Aries far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, prepare to face the consequences.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Much like a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross, both in its regular and Super Form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still Fighting types, and – be it their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Several previous Pokédex entries note their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its appendage to collect it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Look at this total queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, offering an constant fountain of chatter to those who wish to hear. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an enemy’s next moves, which sounds quite similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive member of the zodiac, a intense sign famous for frequently getting absorbed in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's excessive for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Cancer emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its ability to make a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same energy a Lion offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Leo to be putting on a show, even if for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant acid reflux. The sign famous for being endearingly critical is clearly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a always surprised face like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than creating a plan.
Libra – Mega Audino
Observe this sweet, sensitive creature, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the peace, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, to be frank, it would probably just cause them to stress more about others.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became consciousness through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpion friends. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Archers are always putting on a performance. Being a Archer personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities in advance? That gives the identical energy as a Capricorn, who often consistently think they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is possibly the non-flame placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that fails to perfectly {encaps
